Exhibition Curator Andrew Julo writes:
"Motivated deeply by his faith and mastery of classical painting, Frank Mason created dozens of works imaging Biblical subjects and scenes from the lives of the saints over the course of his prolific career. It was Mason’s use of light that links his work to the artists he most admired. It serves as a theological throughline that infuses his canvases with an awareness of divine fulfillment."
BOOK RELEASE
LOFT LAW, THE LAST OF NEW YORK CITY'S ORIGINAL ARTIST LOFTS
By Joshua Charow
After seeing the publication of the NY Post article (linked above), NYC photographer & videographer Josh Charow reached out to ask if he could include the Broome Street studio story for his photography book. This short documentary will be linked here when it is released.
Josh's book, "Loft Law. The Last of New York City's Original Artist Lofts", is now available for purchase here:

REMBRANDT'S LOST SECRET:
How the Invention of Oil Painting Colored Our World
By Peter Layne Arguimbau
As entertaining as it is informative, Arguimbau opens his book with his earliest memories of Frank Mason cooking up Maroger mediums with his father and Mason’s young son, Arden. Peter writes - ‘“What is this smoke all over the house!” my mother cried from the kitchen—but my father and Frank didn’t bother to respond.’ A page turner for any Mason fan.
